Day Three

Although it doesn't look like alot has changed since day 2, if you look closely you'll see i have undon'e all the pipes leading to the power steering pump, and i have also (had a qualified air conditioning specialist) degassed the air conditioning unit (not directly into the atmosphere, of course) *cough*. Anyway i then undid and tucked away all the air-con lines.

Also undid the fuel lines, they were a bitch to get off, and would have been too unsafe to refit, so i just cut them, much easier :D

Final thing i did today was detattch the main loom running along the back of the firewall into the engine. These little connectors can be a bit fiddely to get off and i ended up climbing onto my engine to get a good loom and grip on some of them. You can see the loom all detattched and tucked out of the way under my windscreen wiper.

Day Two

Today I drained the coolant from the engine and removed the radiator and an shroud, started by pretty much pulling all the coolant pipes off the radiator with a bucket and cardboard underneathe to catch and fluid left sitting in the pipes, then it was a matter of a few screws and she came out piss easy.

Then i got under the car and undid the exaustmanifold where it meets the cat and wriggled it free a little bit. Then removed the 8 nuts bolting it to the block and pulled it off and out the top, simple! Got back underneathe afterwards and bolted the cat back to the bracket so that i will be able to left the exaust attatched and still push the car around when i need to.

Removed the battery, pretty self explanitory, lossened the bracket holding it down and then undid both terminals and carried it out of the way.

Day One

Well here are the final pictures of the ca18de in my car before i start pulling everything off it, *tear*, nah fuck that shit lets get this show on the road!

All i have done here is taken the bonnet off, always take a few photo's before you start so you can always go back to them for reference. Luckily for me i have a mate who has also gone from ca18 to rb20 so his entire car shall be my reference, if i run into any 'whats this doodawacky for?', i shall be going straight to his car :D

After i took these photo's i drained the oil out the engine and gearbox, fidled with the clutch lines a bit but one of the nuts was half rounded so i accidently finished that off *oops*, meh i'll do it later :p

Then i quickly removed the intake pipe by undoing my pod bracket and the clamp holding it onto the intake, along with a few breather lines and whatnot. It all came off in one big peice.
